I had this on order from my local record shop (remember those) once I had seen them support the Who, but it never came through.
Thanks to E-bay I now have 2 copies (one demo, one release version,) and a spare copy (a bit scratched, which a friend picked up for me in a charity shop).
This shows the Charlie format in place from early days.
I actually prefer the B side, but both are excellent.

You can hear the beginnings of the distintive Charlie sound and harmonies, who was credited with producing the single ?
Perhaps one day all these kinds of tracks including b-sides, live tracks, old deleted single and some demos can all be put on a CD and sold through the site. I cannot get enough Charlie stuff if honest.

These really are 2 great tracks that deserve to see the light of day as do further unreleased Decca tracks.
Bill Barclay was the producer for this single. He playedwith The Roadrunners back in the 1960's, and then moved to London where heworked for the Red Bus Agency, representing Mungo Jerry amongst others. He then moved on to do A&R with Decca Records in 1972

I doubt the 2" Decca tapes still exist these days, perhaps Terry has a copy of the ¼" mixed down tape somewhere, would be great to put all the material together on disc.
With todays modern digital equipment, things can be cleaned and tidied up to sound like new.
Thanks for goong to all the trouble to do this for us Charlie fans, its much appreciated. I like both songs but I too agree the stronger of the two without a doubt is the B side, "I'm so happy". It just seems to come across as more finished (polished) to me. I am curious as to why neither song never made onto any of Charlie's official releases? I don't think album length would have been an issue!
These were recorded for Decca, not Polydor so would not have been part of the same record deal.
No album was recorded for Decca but another 2 tracks were which have not seen the light of day. I believe these were for a follow up single.
Hopefully the band have copies of the extra 2 tracks to be added a bonus cuts to the reissues(whenever they appear). I understood the single was destined to be added.
