Just received my CD in the mail today thru Amazon and was surprised that they had it and I'm totally enjoying the songs and all the memories. We saw the guys in New Haven, CT. in 1979 when they opened for Foreigner and might have been their second to last show. I bought 2 LP'S the next day, we had good seats and I can still remember Eugene Organ playing lead guitar on Fight Dirty and Shep and Steve Gadd both played. Sorry to hear about Steve Gadd passing on. This CD was released in 2007 from Julian & Terry and hello to them anybody visiting this site. Jim

Hi Jim

If you haven't already, you should listen to Kitchen of Distinction (Charlie release of 2009)

It's brilliant!!

FYI - Terry & Julian are presently working on a new 'Charlie' release (can only hope it's as good as KOD and that it's released this year)

Regards,

Peter (Perthshire-Scotland)

Hi Jim,

I will concur with Peter and say KOD is a fantastic album especially after it came so long after the last Charlie studio album. Terry has lost none of his biting lyric surrounded by a great melody that drives and rocks you from beginning to end. An investment you will not regret.

If you search the internet and want more, you should find all the studio Charlie releases out there. At one time Renaissance records released all the studio albums some as a double.

Enjoy KOD.

I took the advice of both of you and got Kitchens Of Distinction and totally enjoyed it. Terry Thomas must of been pissed off about a lot of things in the world when he wrote this, in listening to the lyrics, which also had lots of humor. In reading some of the comments on this thread, the screw up of the release of Good Morning America in 1981 seems like it was a real set back for this band. I think this song at the time would have been a big hit over here and could still be a hit today in my opinion. Fight Dirty was the last music I heard from this band and a lot of the songs on the Anthology album were new to me, Kings Of The World with the great sax played is one of my favorites but LA Dreamer is my favorite song. I also read where Charlie started in 1971 but after 25 years they are not listed as an eligible band for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sent an e-mail to find out why they were not put on the list in 1996. I haven't heard anything yet, couldn't believe they missed this band. The whole Rock Hall has become a total farce for several years now. Jim (Western Massachusetts)
