Although they were never a household name Charlie were actually key components in the British melodic rock scene. Formed in the early seventies, under the unlikely banner of Charlie Cuckoo, the band tried to gain attention at the height of punk rock, which effectively annexed them from the UK market. However, in the USA things were markedly different as their precise style of AOR gained them significant traction on FM radio, which resulted in the band working almost exclusively in that market.

Good Morning America , originally issued in 1981, was the band's sixth album and crafted with two new members, drummer Bob Henrit and guitarist/vocalist John Verity, both formerly of Argent and fresh from former CBS great white hopes Phoenix. With band leader Terry Thomas at the production helm, and released on RCA records, the intent was to craft an album that would scale the heights of the US charts and push Charlie into the musical super league, alongside Toto, Queen and Styx. Sadly, due to record company shenanigans, it was not to be. The failure to secure commercial gain was obviously not down to the music, far from it. With tracks such as Roll The Dice , I Can't Get Over You , Heading For Home and the anthemic title track, they delivered one of the greatest yet, at the time overlooked, albums of their career and certainly one of the best in the AOR pantheon.

As is the case with all rock candy releases, they never include any bonus tracks and having already got it on CD no real point in getting this release.

Shame they don't put more emphasis on bonus tracks, I will read a 12 page 3,500 word essay once, but bonus tracks I will play over and over again.

Not so.  Rock Candy have many releases with bonus tracks.

Lone Star and Grand Prix spring to mind

Hi all

Just in the process of reliving my youth, playing the GMA CD that just popped thru the letterbox.

Not had the opportunity to wang up the volume, as I'm at work - but I'm getting funny looks from my colleagues, as I'm not usually this happy!!!!

Sound quality seems A OK
